About Kent Down 50 Ultra Challenge
The Kent Down 50 Ultra Challenge takes runners, walkers and joggers across trail terrain in the Kent Downs, with three looped distances starting and finishing at the Kent Showground in Maidstone on 10 October 2026. The 50 km route gains approximately 1000 m of elevation as it follows the North Downs Way to Blue Bell Hill, passes through Aylesford, traces the River Medway to Mote Park, continues along the Len Valley Walk past Leeds Castle, and returns via the North Downs Way. Shorter options of 25 km (approximately 450 m elevation) and 10 km (approximately 200 m elevation) are also available.
The event caters to various participation styles, from competitive runners to casual walkers, and features fully signed routes with GPS tracking via an event app. Rest stops are staffed and equipped with toilets and medical support, with snack stops spaced throughout the route, a picnic at the 25 km mark, and hot and cold refreshments. A finishers meal is provided at the end. Weekend camping, parking and transfer services are available at the basecamp.
