About Laich o' Moray 50
The Laich o' Moray 50 takes place on 29 August 2026 as a pair of circular trail routes based at Rafford Parish Church near Forres in Moray. Participants can choose between a 30 mile challenge with a 14 hour time limit or a 50 mile route with a 24 hour limit. Both routes share an opening section to Roseisle before splitting, with the shorter distance returning via Heldon Hill to rejoin the longer route for the final stretch.
The trail links woodland, long distance paths and coastal sections across the region, incorporating features including the Dava Way, Dallas Dhu, Sueno's Stone, beach and coastal paths towards Lossiemouth, a disused railway line to Elgin, the River Lossie corridor, Quarrel Woods and Heldon Hill with views from the Califer viewpoint. Route materials supplied include Ordnance Survey map coverage, downloadable GPX files and a route description, with start dates selected to ensure beach sections are accessible during daylight hours. Camping is available on the adjacent playing field.
