About Lakeland Country Fair Fell Race
Coniston in the Lake District is the setting for this fell race, held as part of the Lakeland Country Fair on 16 August 2026. The 5.6 mile senior event, classified AS category, takes runners over trail terrain with 705 metres of ascent. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
The race starts and finishes within private farm fields that are not available for pre-event reconnaissance. The course requires fell running experience, mountain skills, local knowledge and navigation ability. Runners can access the wider route via a public footpath 300 metres northwest along the A593. Both pre-entry and on-the-day registration are available. The event is permitted and insured through the Fell Runners Association and UK Athletics.
