About Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Double Header
An 8 km trail loop and a shorter 5 km option give runners a choice at this Lakeland Paws fixture on 25 April 2027 near Braithwaite. The longer route climbs to the summit of Seat How with around 360 metres of ascent, then descends via forest roads and trails back to Whinlatter Visitors Centre. The shorter course bypasses the summit and covers approximately 5 km with 240 metres of ascent, joining the return section of the longer route. Both are fully marked trail options.
Runners can walk sections if needed and there are no cut-offs. Those tackling the steeper summit sections with a dog must use a suitable harness and can bring only one dog; harnesses are available to borrow. Solo runners are welcome too. The event is chip timed with GPX files available to download. As the final race in Lakeland Paws Season 5, the day includes season prize giving at the end.
