About Lakeland Trails 24 Hours
A 24-hour trail running challenge set within the Leighton Hall estate, this event takes place across the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Lancashire on 26-27 September 2026. Competitors tackle a 5.75 km looped course that avoids public roads, combining grass, packed trails and gravel with a couple of hills and wooded sections. The route direction alternates every two hours to maintain variety throughout.
Participants can enter as solos, pairs or teams of up to 12, with only one team member on the course at a time (though first and last laps can be shared). Individual chip timing registers each lap once a halfway timing point is crossed, with live results available during the event. Basic camping is provided with cold water and toilet facilities, alongside car parking nearby. A water station midway around the course offers hydration during daylight hours, and food vendors operate on site. Night runners must wear a working headtorch with spare batteries. Prizes are awarded in Open and Veteran categories, plus awards for most time spent on the course.
