About Lamplighter Night Ultra
Running through the night across the North York Moors, the Lamplighter 20 takes place over 19–20 June 2027, following a circular 20-mile trail route from Goathland War Memorial. The event runs from sunset to sunrise, guiding participants over open moorland, forestry and established tracks with checkpoints at triangulation pillars and other marked locations.
Runners receive a GPX file, master map and tracker before setting out. Multiple checkpoints provide water, refreshments and snacks, with two outdoor stations and one indoor checkpoint; hot food including vegetarian and gluten-free options awaits at the finish. The route is limited to 40 entrants, aged 18 and over, and participants must carry mandatory safety kit including map, compass, whistle, head-torch with spares, emergency bivvy bag, spare clothing, waterproof layers, charged phone with charging lead and battery pack, plus water and emergency food.
