About Langdale Horseshoe
On Saturday 10 October 2026, the Langdale Horseshoe fell race takes runners across 21 km of Lake District terrain based at Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale. The route climbs 1450 metres over its trail course, demanding hill running experience and navigation skills in mountain conditions. This is a category AL event run under FRA permit with UK Athletics insurance.
Pre-entry is required and opens from 1 August. Teams are welcome to compete, with scoring based on four runners for men's teams and three for women's teams. The male course record stands at 01:55:03 and the female record at 02:22:50.
