About Larmer Tree Marathon
Larmer Tree Marathon takes place on the Rushmore Estate near Tollard Royal in Wiltshire on 7 March 2027, centred at the historic Larmer Tree Gardens. Runners register in the estate buildings and finish among ornate structures and free-roaming peacocks, with access to explore the grounds afterwards.
The one mile and 20 mile trail routes wind through chalk valleys, woodlands, tree-lined avenues and open grassland within the Cranborne Chase National Landscape. Both courses are waymarked and marshalled with published route maps and GPX files. Multiple feast stations cater to different dietary requirements alongside water and electrolyte stops, with Coke provided in the later marathon stages. All runners completing 5 km or longer receive a medal.
Wave starts of around 100 runners manage the field. The marathon has a three-hour cut-off to start the second lap and seven-hour overall finish target; the 20-mile course has a four-hour cut-off for the main lap. Age and gender categories determine awards. Parking, facilities and nearby train stations are available for those travelling to the event.
