The Left Handed Giant 12-Hour Backyard Ultra suits runners who enjoy a social format with a twist. Taking place on 24 October 2026 at Alderman Apartments Cabot Mews in Bristol, this event runs the backyard ultra format: participants complete one approximately 4-mile trail loop per hour for up to six hours. Finishing all six loops totals 24 miles or 39 kilometres, with the winner being the first runner to complete loop six.

The route follows the usual short Thursday night course in reverse, departing from the Left Handed Giant Taproom at St Philips. Road shoes are recommended. Runners must complete each loop within the hour or begin the next loop on the hour—failure to do either ends their race. Pacers are not permitted, and running alongside non-participants will result in disqualification. Participants receive one Left Handed Giant beer (with an alcohol-free option), access to a water station supplied with Precision Fuel and Hydration, Jimmy's iced coffee, and a snack station; runners should bring their own race nutrition. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone, head torch or hand torch, appropriate footwear and clothing for variable weather, post-event clothing, a water bottle, and a hot cup. The event is open to ages 18 and over. Public transport is recommended as there is no parking at the venue.
