About Longshaw Sheepdog Fell Race
Longshaw Sheepdog Fell Race takes place on 5 September 2026 at Longshaw Lodge in the Derbyshire Dales, running alongside Britain's oldest sheepdog trials. The 8.6 km trail route stays entirely within the Longshaw Estate and Grindleford Valley, designed to minimise road crossings while delivering a challenging fell running experience across open countryside with significant climbs and descents.
The race follows Fell Runners Association rules and requires mandatory kit. Runners start and finish within the sheepdog trials event itself, giving participants access to the broader countryside gathering with refreshments and entertainment on site after completing the course.
