About Lundy Island Race
Taking place on 18 July 2027, the Lundy Island Race is a 14-mile trail event across Lundy, off the Devon coast. The route encompasses the island's North Lighthouse, clifftop paths on both the eastern and western sides, the central spine and various steep slopes and sidetracks, with the course fully marked and marshalled throughout.
Runners can reach the island via a chartered vessel, the MS Oldenburg, which carries up to 250 competitors and includes a day return trip, or by arranging independent travel on the scheduled island service. Registration and the race start and finish take place at race headquarters on the village green near the Marisco Tavern. Aid stations are located at both ends of the island, including at the North Lighthouse, with first aid available on course and at headquarters.
The event requires mandatory kit including trail shoes, a waterproof jacket, head cover, foil blanket, a back or waist pack with capacity for 250 ml of water, and a mobile phone. A minimum age of 17 applies to all entries. The race runs under England Athletics rules and holds a Trail Running Association permit.
