About Magna Carta Spring
Magna Carta Spring takes runners along the Thames Path through Runnymede in Surrey, the historic location where King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215. The trail-based course follows a fast, flat out-and-back route with minimal elevation gain, making it suitable for those aiming for personal bests or building endurance on this established national trail.
The event takes place on 10 April 2027 and offers three distances—10 km, 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles—with staggered starts on the same day. Runners of all abilities are welcome, from first-time marathoners to experienced athletes. The course is well-supported with checkpoints stocked with energy drinks, snacks and water, plus a professional medical team. After finishing, runners have access to the nearby Runnymede monuments for a post-race visit.
