About Manchester Backyard Ultra
Manchester Backyard Ultra takes place on 12 June 2027 at Giants Seat Scout Camp in Radcliffe, Manchester. This endurance event follows the backyard ultra format, requiring runners to complete a 4.167-mile trail loop each hour. Competitors have the remainder of each hour to rest and recover before the next loop begins. The race continues until only one runner completes a final solo lap.
The out-and-back course takes runners to the top of the park and back along marked trails with marshals in place throughout. Runners must start within the corral when the bell rings for each new loop and complete it within the hour. A head torch is compulsory kit, and high-visibility clothing is strongly recommended for night loops. Entry includes a participant medal, access to a rest marquee, pitch space, parking, hot showers, water, drinks, snacks and event photography.
