About Marathon Eryri
Marathon Eryri takes place on 24 October 2026, following a 26.2-mile route that loops around Yr Wyddfa in Snowdonia National Park. Starting just outside Llanberis, the course climbs through Llanberis Pass to Pen y Pass before descending towards Beddgelert and continuing to Waunfawr. Runners then tackle a steep late climb to around 1,200ft at Bwlch y Groes before the final descent back into the village.
The predominantly road-based route incorporates short sections of farm track and unmetalled surface. First held in 1982 as the Snowdonia Marathon, this race has established itself as a longstanding fixture of the UK marathon calendar, drawing participants to experience the demanding mountain landscape and sustained elevation changes that define the course through the heart of Eryri.
