About Minninglow March
The Minninglow March is a 17-mile trail event set in the Derbyshire Dales, taking runners over limestone paths, grassy fields and sections of the High Peak Trail with approximately 2,000 feet of ascent. Starting and finishing at The Pavilion in Parwich on Sunday 11 July 2027, the circular course is a self-navigation event where participants navigate using a GPX file or map and compass.
Minimal signage marks the route, which follows public rights of way and established trails. The course includes two points of interest—Minninglow Hill and Harborough Rocks—where runners collect cards to deliver at the finish as part of the event's "Collect and Deliver" Quest. Aid stations are positioned at roughly 3.5, 9.4 and 14 miles, offering sweet and savoury snacks and light refreshments. The event welcomes both runners and fast walkers with a six-hour cut-off, requiring a pace of around three miles per hour over trail terrain.
Participants must be confident navigating trails and meet the age requirement of over 18. The event is licensed under UK Athletics rules with TRA licence 8431.
