Nestled in the Forest of Dean Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this trail race takes runners through ancient woodland, past historic ironworks and along riverbanks in Herefordshire's Symonds Yat West. Held on 11 October 2026, the 6-mile (10 km) course combines hard trails, single track and unmade ground, featuring climbs, flat sections and technical terrain. The route includes a notable hill climb known as the Demon before the final descent to the finish.
Starting near Doward Youth Campsite, the race is signposted and marshalled throughout, with a water station at the midpoint and first aid cover. Trail shoes are recommended for the terrain. The event runs under Welsh Athletics Permit and UK Athletics Rules, welcoming runners aged 17 and over. Race headquarters is based at Biblins Youth Campsite, where toilet facilities are available and kit bags can be left at owners' risk. Parking near HQ is limited, so car sharing is encouraged.
