About Montane Trail 13 & 26 Howgills
Nestled in the Howgill Fells near Sedbergh, this trail running event offers three distinct challenges across the fell landscape. Participants can choose between 10 km, 13 miles or 26 miles, all starting and finishing at Smatt's Duo Cafe. On-course feed stations support runners throughout their route, with route maps provided for each distance option.
The event operates under strict safety protocols. All runners must be at least 16 years old and carry mandatory kit appropriate to their chosen distance. Course cut-off points are in place, including a five-hour limit to reach Ravenstonedale feed station for the longest route, with a final finish cut-off of seven hours and thirty minutes. Electronic timing is used throughout the race, and event photographs are available to download after the event.
