About Monument Mile Classic
The Monument Mile Classic has established itself as one of the UK's premier mile meetings, drawing club athletes, national competitors and elite international runners to compete on the same day. Held at the University of Stirling on 5 September 2026, this World Athletics permit track meeting organises races by standard, so participants compete against runners of similar ability.
The event runs a full afternoon and evening programme of seeded one mile races on the track. All finishers receive official photo finish times for both the mile and the 1500 metre split, offering runners a chance to pursue a personal best. The Classic welcomes participants of all abilities, from those targeting their first sub-five minute mile to those competing at the highest level.
