About Morland 'Marathon'
At nearly 29 miles, this trail ultra follows a largely off-road route through the Eden Valley near Morland in Westmorland and Furness. Starting and finishing at Morland Village Hall on 6 March 2027, the course climbs around 3000 feet across mixed terrain, staying close to the Pennines to the east and the Howgills to the south. Participants pass through historic villages and natural features including stone circles, waterfalls, cairns and meadows, with sections traversing lower fells and undulating grassland close to the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The event welcomes both runners and walkers, with the option to enter as individuals or relay teams. A 12-hour time limit applies. Four checkpoints along the route provide water and snacks, and all entrants are tracked throughout. Participants must be at least 20 years old.
