About Mormond Hill Run
The Mormond Hill Run takes runners across undulating trail terrain towards the summit of Mormond Hill in Aberdeesshire. This 5.6-mile route, starting from Library Gardens in Strichen, encompasses roughly 600 feet of ascent and rewards participants with expansive views across the Buchan countryside—extending to the sea and Bennachie on clear days. Water is available at a station positioned at the hill's summit.
Now in its 10th anniversary year, the event takes place on 16 August 2026. Marshals are stationed along the course to ensure safety and navigation. Finishers receive a medal and water, with tea and refreshments also available. Parking is free at the start venue, where changing facilities and toilets are provided for participants.
