About Morven Hill Race
Morven Hill Race takes runners to Aberdeenshire's Groddie near Dinnet on 3 October 2026 for a classic hill race centred on climbing to the summit of Morven. The full 8.8 km route gains approximately 660 metres, following tracks above Balhennie on the ascent before a technical descent back to the finish. The terrain is marked throughout, and full race participants must carry waterproof body cover, a hat, gloves, a paper map and compass as mandatory safety kit.
Two shorter trail races run alongside the main event. The 4 km Half Morven climbs around 400 metres and welcomes both adults and junior categories, offering an introduction to hill racing. The 1.8 km Mini Morven features 125 metres of climbing on an out and back course designed for younger runners.
