About MTC Glaistig
The MTC Glaistig is a 31.3-mile trail ultra run taking place on 28 May 2028, forming day two of the MTC SCOTIA nine-day end-to-end route across Scotland. Starting at the Traquair Arms Hotel in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders, the race finishes at the Travelodge Edinburgh Airport in Ratho Park.
This is the first edition of the event, with a limited field of up to 40 runners. The route is marked with preset cut-offs based on a minimum average pace of 4.0 mph. Entrants receive competitor tracking devices with an SOS function, along with route maps and GPX files ahead of the race. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. The event is cup-free, so runners need to bring their own reusable cup.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal, with male and female champions also receiving trophies.
