About MTC SELKIE
A 42-mile trail race across the Scottish Highlands, MTC Selkie takes place on 3 June 2028 in Dornoch. The inaugural event forms Day 8 of the MTC SCOTIA nine-day series and is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge. The route covers 3,880 feet of ascent and 3,743 feet of descent, running from the Eagle Hotel in Dornoch to Dunbeath with checkpoints at Golspie, Brora, Helmsdale and Berriedale.
The race is limited to 40 competitors and enforces preset cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph. Runners must bring mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone and basic first aid kit. Maps and GPX data are provided to entrants by email around four weeks before the event, and tracking devices with SOS functionality are supplied. The event is cup-free, so competitors should bring a reusable cup.
