About New Forest Xmas Trails
BigFeat Events hosts this festive trail running festival across the New Forest, with three distances to suit different ambitions. Taking place on 6 December 2026 at Bransgore War Memorial, the event features fully marked single-lap courses that wind through heathland and woodland terrain. Runners can choose between 15 km, 30 km, 50 km or marathon distances.
The longer distances—30 km, marathon and 50 km—carry mandatory kit requirements including a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, buff, foil blanket or orange survival bag, and mobile phone. Runners on these courses must also carry at least 500 ml of fluid. Cut-off times range from three hours for the 15 km to eight hours for both the marathon and ultramarathon. Those taking on the longer routes are encouraged to download the GPX file to a wearable device for navigation.
Participants in the marathon and longer distances have the option to plant a tree instead of receiving a finishers medal through the Trees Not Tees scheme.
