About Night of the Undead - Zombie Run
On 24 October 2026, Wigan hosts its first zombie run at Haigh Woodland Park. Participants tackle a 5 km mixed terrain route across park drives and woodland trails, completed over 2.5 laps. Zombie actors are stationed in designated zones along the course to challenge runners, joggers and walkers.
Everyone wears a belt with three flags representing lives. Zombies attempt to remove these flags from participants as they pass through; finishing with at least one flag counts as survived, while losing all flags means finishing infected. Though presented as a fun run rather than a competitive race, all participants are manually timed and receive an online record of their finish time.
Volunteer positions are available for those interested in supporting the event.
