About Norfolk Coastal Marathon & Half Marathon
Trail runners seeking an exposed coastal challenge will find plenty to savour in this Norfolk pair of events. The marathon covers 26.2 miles starting from Holme next the Sea, while the half marathon begins at Burnham Overy Staithe; both follow the waymarked Norfolk Coast Path to a shared finish at Morston on 19 September 2026.
The predominantly off-road route traces the National Trail eastwards along the shoreline, passing through Holkham, Wells next the Sea and Stiffkey. Refreshment checkpoints are positioned at intervals throughout the journey, which takes in open views and shifting terrain characteristic of this stretch of coastline. Both events are licensed by the Trail Running Association and operate as point-to-point courses with a distinctive coastal character.
