About North Downs Way Ultra Run
A 30-mile guided trail run through the Surrey Hills, the North Downs Way Ultra Run takes place on 3 October 2026, starting and finishing at St Martha's in Guildford. The route follows parts of the North Downs Way, passing through small villages, Denbies Wine Estate and Box Hill, with views across the downs from Newland's Corner before returning to the church.
Rather than a competitive race, this is a group-led event guided by an experienced ultra runner and coach who handles navigation and route planning. Participants should have completed at least 22 miles in training and be capable of sustaining around 10 minutes per mile on trail terrain. A detailed kit list is provided in advance, and a car park is available at the meeting location, with a train station nearby for those travelling by rail.
