About North Yorks Ultra Challenge
The North Yorks Ultra Challenge takes runners on a trail journey across the North Yorkshire coast and countryside over 26-27 June 2027. Starting from Scarborough, the route follows the beaches and the Cleveland Way northward through Robin Hood Bay to Whitby, where Whitby Abbey serves as the main basecamp and midway stop for the longer distances.
Four distances are available: 10 miles, 25 km, 50 km and 100 km. The 100 km route continues inland from Whitby through the Esk Valley, moorland and Moors Park Forest before returning to Scarborough via the Tabular Hills Walk. Supported throughout with rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, the course is marked with arrows and glow-sticks for night sections. On-course medical support includes doctors, paramedics and first aid teams. Camping is available at base camp with shower facilities.
