About Ogwen | Yr Helgi Du
Ogwen | Yr Helgi Du brings mountain running to the Ogwen Valley in the heart of Eryri on 24 July 2027. Based at Plas y Brenin in Capel Curig, the event offers three distances—15 km, 25 km and 40 km—across trail terrain with skyrunning-style routes. Runners tackle the high ground of the Carneddau, with the longest course extending into the Glyderau, characterised by technical terrain and significant ascent.
The courses are marked and supported by Mountain Leaders positioned on the route, with marshals, energy stations and support vehicles providing assistance throughout. Chip timing captures results, and finishers receive mementos reflecting the event's local heritage. An event village at the venue hosts music, commentary, food and drink, with services and information available in both English and Welsh.
