About Panopticons Ultra
On 22 May 2027, Panopticons Ultra takes runners on a 32-mile trail journey through the South Pennines around East Lancashire. This point-to-point route begins at Colourfields in Corporation Park, Blackburn, and weaves through sections of the Pennine Way, the Rossendale Way and the Pennine Bridgeway, visiting four art installations by Mid Pennine Arts: Halo near Haslingden, the Singing Ringing Tree overlooking Burnley, the Atom at Wycoller, and finishing in Trawden. The course covers approximately 4,700 feet of ascent.
Runners will receive a map, GPX file and written route instructions ahead of the event. Transport from the finish village back to the start is arranged, and parking is available nearby. A 10-hour time limit applies to complete the route. Entrants must be aged 18 or over and are required to carry a full body waterproof cover, map, compass, whistle, cup and a fully charged mobile phone, plus wear appropriate fell or trail footwear. Dogs are not permitted.
