About Peak District Ultra Challenge
Taking place across the first weekend of July, the Peak District Ultra Challenge is a multi-distance trail event centred on Bakewell in the Southern Peak District. Runners can choose from 10 miles, 25 km, 50 km or 100 km routes, with looped courses forming the basis of the shorter distances and a figure-of-eight route used for the full ultra distance.
The event operates from a basecamp at Bakewell CofE Infant School with comprehensive support throughout the weekend. Rest stops are positioned roughly every 12.5 km, with major stops approximately every 25 km offering covered areas, catering, changing facilities and welfare services. The routes are signed and marked, with GPS tracking available via app and timing logged at rest stops. Massage, podiatry and medical teams are on-site, alongside a mobile emergency medical service.
A range of camping packages is available for those running the longer distances, with dedicated camping facilities for the two-day 100 km option. The weekend programme includes on-site parking and transfers alongside hospitality and welfare services throughout.
