About Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield
Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield takes place on 20 September 2026 at Old School Field in the High Peak area of Derbyshire. This is a 3-hour trail running event that challenges competitors to navigate the Peak District hills, moors and dales using route choice and navigation skills. Runners select their own course and can go as hard or as easy as they like within the time limit.
The race uses a score format where competitors visit as many control points as possible to accumulate points, with penalties for finishing late. Participants can enter solo or as a pair, and the event is part of a four-race series where the best three results count towards an overall league. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, hat, gloves, compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Competitors receive a waterproof map at the start with control descriptions and points values printed on the back. Registration opens at 7:30 am on the day, with staggered start times in five-minute slots from 8 am to 10 am.
