An overnight trail event across the South Pennines, Pendle Way on a Midsummers Night follows the waymarked Pendle Way through moorland, bridleways and local footpaths around Barley in Lancashire. Taking place on 24 June 2028, runners can choose between 30 miles and 45 miles, both requiring navigation ability and significant climbing.
The night-time format demands proper preparation. Mandatory kit includes full waterproof cover, map, headtorch with spare batteries or a second light, compass, whistle, mug and a charged mobile phone. Fell or trail footwear is essential. Organisers supply a full map, GPX files and written instructions, with OS map OL21 recommended for reference.
