Dartmoor Myths & Legends: The Hairy Hands is a seven-hour trail running event organised by Phoenix Running, taking place on Sunday, 4 October 2026 in Bovey Tracey. Runners start from Mill Marsh Park and follow the Wray Valley Trail through the Parke Estate and along the River Bovey on a flat out-and-back course.
Each lap of the riverside footpath covers 5.3 km with just 31 metres of elevation gain. Participants can complete as many laps as they wish within the seven-hour window, ranging from a single lap up to ultra marathon distance. The 'rock up and run' start format means runners can begin whenever they choose, and there's no need to commit to a specific distance beforehand. All finishers receive a medal. The event welcomes runners of all abilities with no qualification requirements, though places are limited to 50 participants.
