About Phoenix South Wales - Are We There Yet?
The 5km trail route at Parc Cwm Darran takes runners on an officially measured loop that descends from the top carpark before winding anticlockwise around the lake and back. Each lap covers approximately 80m of elevation gain on a mix of tarmac and trail surfaces. The event takes place on 13 September 2026 at the Visitor Centre near Fochriw in Caerphilly County Borough.
Phoenix South Wales organises this event for runners and walkers of all abilities. Participants can choose their own start time, and the route can be lapped multiple times to suit different distances. An aid station stocked with snacks, drinks and vegan and gluten-free options is available throughout the day. Toilets and changing facilities are provided at the Visitor Centre, along with a dog-friendly cafe. All participants must finish by 3:30pm.
