Crathes Castle provides the scenic backdrop for a running festival that welcomes families and adult runners of all ages. Held on 12 September 2026 in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, the event offers three distances across the castle grounds and surrounding countryside.
The Half Marathon loops out onto quiet country roads to the north and east of the estate, taking in sections toward Drum Castle before returning to finish on the castle lawn. Much of the route follows back roads with some level off-road farm track sections. Shorter options include a 5 km route and a 1.5 km children's race, both based within the castle grounds. The Half Marathon features age category prizes for runners over 50, 60 and 70, while all finishers across the distances receive a medal.
