About Plough and Harroween trail run

Held on Halloween night, the Plough and Harroween trail run takes runners across 5 miles of East Sussex countryside near Litlington Tea Gardens in Wealden. The self-navigated route follows a Strava GPX file on a phone or watch, taking in forest, farm tracks and downland with significant elevation. A tail runner supports the course, and race numbers are collected at the Plough & Harrow pub, which also serves as the start and finish venue.

Participants must carry a head torch and mobile phone, and fancy dress with a Halloween theme is strongly encouraged—those opting out face a five minute time penalty, while the best dressed runner wins a post-run dessert. Results are timed, and finishers receive a Halloween-themed medal plus a post-run drink. The event is limited to 40 places and restricted to runners aged 18 and over. The venue offers food and drink options, though parking is limited.
