Trail runners looking for a Yorkshire Dales challenge will find their match in this established event, which takes runners through upland and valley terrain across sections of the Dales High Way, the River Aire Ultra and the Pennine Way. Starting from Skipton town centre, the 20 mile route climbs 1500 feet and is flagged and taped, though runners should carry route maps or GPX files for navigation.
The event is in its fourth year and carries ITRA points and UTMB Q20K qualification. Staffed checkpoints provide water, cola, energy bars and crisps, with vegan and gluten-free options available. Runners can hire a tracker, which includes an emergency button. The race is limited to 200 participants aged 18 and over, with registration at St. Andrew's Church on Newmarket Street. Finishers receive a medal and event T-shirt.
