About Rabbit Run - Ballycastle
Rabbit Run takes runners into Ballypatrick Forest near Ballycastle on 13 February 2027, offering three trail distance options across terrain that is 98 per cent off-road. Participants can enter the 10 km, half marathon (13.1 miles) or full marathon (26.2 miles), with the half marathon and marathon following circular forest routes. The 10 km takes an out-and-back path within the forest, while marathon runners complete two laps of the half marathon course.
The event operates on a self-sufficiency basis. Runners must carry their own water and supplies, with a single refill station available at approximately 6 miles for half marathon and marathon entrants. The 10 km route has water only at the start and finish. There is a seven-hour cut-off time. Race numbers are collected on the day from 7.30am, and entrants must be 18 or over. The forest course is fully marked with direction arrows, and a GPX file is available for GPS devices. Parking at the venue is extremely limited.
