About Race for Life Bath 10k
Bath provides the setting for an unconventional challenge where navigation and self-reliance matter as much as running ability. The Drop Bath, organised by Organic Adventure, takes place on 4 July 2027 and invites participants to choose between 6, 10 or 15 mile distances across trail terrain. The twist lies in the format: runners are transported by bus to an undisclosed location outside the city, then released without maps, GPS devices, watches or phones. From that point, they must navigate their way back to the event centre using only their own judgement and problem-solving skills.
Distances are measured as straight-line drops, meaning actual routes covered tend to be considerably longer than the stated distance. The event blends trail running with navigation challenges and strategic thinking, rewarding resilience and self-reliance alongside physical endurance. This is running stripped back to its essentials, where every route choice rests entirely with the participant.
