On 24 July 2027, Race for Life Pretty Muddy returns to Tilgate Park in Crawley for a 5 km obstacle course that takes runners on a double lap around Tilgate Lake and the Nature Reserve. The route combines tarmac, grass, gravel and woodland surfaces, with inclines, uneven ground and obstacles designed to be climbed, crawled and slid around. Participants should expect conditions that may turn soft and muddy, particularly after rain, and be prepared for potential congestion in wooded sections and the Walled Garden.

The event starts and finishes on grass on the western side of the lake, with waves used to stagger the start times throughout the day. Marshals are on hand to offer support, and most obstacles can be skipped if needed. The 13-year minimum age applies. Tilgate Car Park offers accessible parking with a 240 m route to the event site, and the nearest train station is Three Bridges. On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking; showers and bag drop are not available.
