About Race for Life Preston 10k
Race for Life Pretty Muddy Preston brings together participants ready to tackle obstacles while supporting cancer research. Taking place on 5 June 2027 in Avenham Park, this 5 km obstacle course winds through Miller Park and Frenchwood Recreational Ground on a mix of surfaced paths and grass, with gentle undulations and views of the River Ribble. Competitors navigate climbs, crawls and slides around multiple obstacles, with wave starts staggered every 15 minutes. The event welcomes participants aged 13 and over; younger children have their own separate Pretty Muddy Kids events.
The meeting point and finish are at Avenham Park in front of the Pavilion Cafe. Refreshments, toilets and parking are available on site. Be aware that grass areas may become soft in wet weather, and the site is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Blue badge parking is available in nearby public car parks, and an electric vehicle charging point can be found in Avenham Car Park. Dogs are not permitted.
