Race for Life Pretty Muddy Swindon takes runners off-road at Lydiard Park for a 5 km trail course mixing tarmacked paths with woodland terrain. The route features hills and uneven ground with plenty of twists and turns, incorporating climbing, crawling and sliding obstacles that test participants before a finish on grass near a large oak tree.

Participants must be at least 13 years old. The course starts on grass by the children's play area outside the Jungle Parc and Forest Cafe, with waves departing every 15 minutes. The start and finish areas are on firm grass, though these may soften in wet conditions. The site is not wheelchair accessible and is unsuitable for pushchairs. Free parking is available on grass inside Lydiard Park via the Hook Street gate, with blue badge parking about 100 metres from the event. Toilets and refreshments are on site; dogs are not permitted.
