About Race The Tide
Trail runners visiting Devon on 22 May 2027 can choose between three distances across the Flete Estate near Holbeton. The 9-mile Watery Woodland Trail loops through estate woodlands with three notable climbs and an estuary crossing. The 15-mile Half-Marathon shares terrain with the longer route for its closing miles, including around 613 metres of ascent overall. The 29-mile Marathon extends further to take in Bigbury-on-Sea beach and Burgh Island, plus additional estuary crossings at Wonwell.
All three races use a mix of private footpaths, the South West Coast Path, bridle paths, fields and woodland, starting and finishing at Mothecombe. Digital timing is in place throughout, with finisher medals for all who complete their chosen distance.
