About Race to Remember
Portsmouth's Historic Naval Dockyard plays host to the Race to Remember, a trail event supporting veterans' mental health. Participants can choose between a 36 km course starting in Petersfield or an ambitious 76 km ultra running from Aldershot, both finishing at the dockyard on 7 November 2026. The 36 km route takes in the South Downs National Park and suits both runners and walkers, whilst the 76 km ultramarathon traverses a longer path through the same landscape, climbing over 2000 feet.
Both courses are fully marked and supported, with aid stations positioned throughout the route and cut-off times in place to ensure safety. The event welcomes participants aged 16 and over for the 36 km distances, with under-18s requiring parental accompaniment, and 18 and over for the 76 km ultra. Those taking part are encouraged to fundraise for the cause.
