About Race to the King
Race to the King is a trail ultramarathon staged by its organiser across the South coast, South Downs Way and Monarch's Way. Taking place on 19 June 2027, the event is based at West Dean Gardens near Chichester and offers four distances to suit different ambitions: 39 km, 50 km, 80 km and 100 km. Runners can choose between looped and non-stop formats, combining coastal paths with downland terrain.
The event operates to a 25+ hour cut-off. Participants benefit from fully signposted trails, route checking, pit stops with food and drink, qualified medical staff and paramedic cover, bag transfer to finish lines, and parking and shuttle arrangements. The finish area includes facilities for spectators.
