About Ranger Ultras High Peak HP18km Trail Run
Ranger Expeditions & Ultras organises this 18 km trail run in the High Peak, heading out from Whaley Bridge to the upper Goyt Valley and returning via a mix of fast trail sections and steeper climbs totalling 488 metres of ascent. The event takes place on 17 October 2026, with Race HQ at Whaley Bridge Uniting Church on Buxton Road.
The route is self-navigating with straightforward navigation, and participants receive course notes and a GPX file. The Ranger Safety Team provides support at headquarters and on the course, with an on-course water stop at the turnaround point. Compulsory kit includes a waterproof jacket, insulating layers, hat, gloves, appropriate trail footwear, a hard-copy map, whistle, emergency bivvy bag, fluids, food, first aid kit and a fully charged mobile phone. The event is limited to 40 participants.
