Ranger Ultras organises a challenging trail event across the High Peak in October, offering runners a choice between 70 km and 100 km distances. The out-and-back route starts from Whaley Bridge and follows a course through the Goyt Valley, Buxton, the White Peak and the Pennine Bridleway National Trail, with a total ascent of 1460 metres. Runners can decide their distance on course, with the 70 km turn point at 35 km, provided they reach it within seven hours of elapsed race time.

The 24-hour event welcomes a maximum of 100 runners aged 20 and over. Support includes on-course water stops with snacks and hot soup, a pasta dinner and hot drinks at the finish, plus breakfast on Sunday morning. Participants must carry a compulsory kit including map, baseplate compass, head torch with backup, emergency bivvy, first aid kit, sufficient food and fluids, mobile phone and a litter bag, subject to a pre-race check. Finishers receive eco-medals, with trophies awarded to winners and fastest finishers in age categories.
