About Ras Rhobell Fawr Fell Race
Ras Rhobell Fawr kicks off the Meirionnydd Winter Race Series with a 6 mile fell race from Llanfachreth in Gwynedd on 7 November 2026. The course climbs approximately 1900 feet through fields and tracks before following a wall to the summit, then retraces the route back to the village hall start and finish point.
This is a serious fell race graded AM & LK/PM/NS, run by volunteers with a strong emphasis on safety. Runners must carry full WFRA kit as a minimum and wear fell shoes. A junior race follows the senior event on the same course, with entries available on the day. Post race soup is provided to finishers. Recent conditions have seen the steep green road section between the lower fields and mountain deteriorate, which has affected course records.
