About Ras yr Aran
Ras yr Aran brings the Meirionnydd Winter Race Series to a close as its third and final event, taking runners to the fells above Llanuwchllyn in Gwynedd on 20 March 2027. The 10-mile trail race features substantial ascent across terrain that shifts from well-marked tracks and footpaths in the lower reaches to open, unmarked fell and high mountain ground above.
Runners should be prepared for exposed conditions at altitude across featureless terrain where navigational ability may be needed. Weather on the high mountain can be variable and challenging. A race map is provided, with larger area maps available to help runners understand the surrounding terrain.
